Student-Athlete Host Responsibilities

Please read the following guidelines and sign below:

  • Treat your PSA as you would want to be treated in an unfamiliar environment.
  • Be certain that the PSA always knows how and where to reach you should you become separated.
  • Do not supply the prospective alcohol or illegal drugs.
  • If you have been assigned to host a specific PSA for an overnight, you are obligated to make sure that the PSA spends the night in your room or a previously designated room approved by the coach.
  • You have an obligation to act in a reasonable manner to assure the safety and well-being of the recruit.

I have read the above guidelines and understand that I am expected to abide by them as part of my duties to any prospective student-athlete I have been assigned to host this school year.

Appendix C

Social Media Policy 2020-2021

The Department is fully committed to and endorses the NCAA principle of Health and Safety of student-athletes which states that “it is the responsibility of each member of the institution to protect the health of and provide a safe environment for each of its “participating student-athletes” (NCAA Division III Manual, 2.2.3).

In support of this principle, our Department restricts any illegal or inappropriate use of social media, including but not limited to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. The depiction, promotion or marketing of behaviors that violate local, state or Federal law or violate College or team policy is prohibited. Both individual student-athletes and teams are subject to the above policy.

If a student-athlete or team is found responsible for violating the above policy, the head coach of that team along with the Director of Athletics will determine the appropriate course of action. Sanctions could include (but are not limited to): suspension or removal of a student-athlete from the team.

Full team suspension resulting in an elimination of practices and games during the competition year in which the infraction occurred or, if such infraction occurs after the competitive playing season, suspension would be enforced during the next competitive playing season. Any violations of College policy are also subject to adjudication through the Student Affairs Office.

By signing this form, I (the student-athlete) understand the above policy and the consequences of my actions should I fail to comply.
